New Option for Bunion Surgery

Patented technology offering a less invasive and more cosmetically appealing outcome

How It Works

  • The Phantom® MIS procedure is designed to return your toe to a normal position, eliminating the painful bump through a first of its kind minimally invasive approach.

  • A series of small incisions are made in order to allow the surgeon to correct the deformity, prior to inserting the Phantom® Nail.

  • The Phantom® Nail is contained completely within the bone which may limit pain and discomfort with footwear that patients may experience with other approaches.

  • The Phantom® Nail provides a more stable construct compared to other surgical methods.8

The Phantom® MIS procedure is intended to correct your bunion with three separate incisions which are each 0.4 inches or less. This procedure requires shorter incisions than traditional approaches leaving you with far less scarring.

Tracy’s Story.

Bunion surgery can be a life changing event. The Phantom® Small Bone Intramedullary Nail can deliver life changing results and is designed as a minimally invasive approach to bunion surgery that doesn’t have to keep you off of your feet for too long. A life without rowing was unimaginable for Tracy, luckily she worked with her surgeon to find the right solution for her. A solution that didn’t keep her from doing what she loved.

Minimally Invasive Approach & Practice

Smaller Less Visible Scars
Our Minimally Invasive System reduces the length of the incision, resulting in smaller scars when compared with traditional approaches

Minimally Invasive
Limited dissection of surrounding tissues may allow for a more rapid recovery post operatively6
No Hardware Prominence
The Phantom® Nail; when inserted, is completely in bone which minimizes concerns related to other procedures where the hardware rests on the bone, potentially causing irritation with shoe wear post-surgery7

“I exclusively use the Phantom Nail in all of my lapidus bunion surgeries.”
